It’s the season for college hunting and everyone wants what is the best; after all, no one likes to go through the torture of examinations without aiming for something high. India is home to a large number of colleges for almost all streams; here is a list of the top art ones:


1.Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi: Established in 1956, this college has endured for years and produced some of the brightest minds of the country. An all-girls institution, the faculty here is polished and so is the placement cell. The cut-off here is very high but the college is definitely worth it!


2.Loyola College, Chennai: With geniuses like Vishwanathan Anand, Mahesh Babu and P. Chidambaram, this is one college with a rich history and alumni. The college focuses on practical education and hence implements a compulsory internship in the final year.


3.Christ University, Bangalore: The Psychology and Performing Arts departments in this university are very well known and the infrastructure of the college pretty good. They have a pretty good placement cell as well and the weather of Bangalore only adds to the charm.


4.FLAME University, Pune: the pioneers of liberal education in India, FLAME University offers a curriculum unlike any other university in India. They have brilliant faculty and the college campus looks nothing short of a five-star resort. The students stay on campus and hence the grounds are always abuzz with activity.


5.Madras Christian College, Chennai: One of the best run colleges of the country, they have alumni consisting of names like Indira Nooyi and Prakash Karat. It is one of the most sought after colleges in South India and holds true to its aim of imparting quality education.


6.St. Xaviers, Mumbai: One of the most renowned and well known colleges of India focusing on arts and humanities, getting through is tough but surely not impossible. They have good faculty and programs that give you time to be both involved professionally and socially with the city of Mumbai. They do not accept any donations and take in students based on an entrance exam.

7.College of Art, New Delhi: A college dedicated to advanced training in visual arts, this university was established in 1942 and has since grown in prestige. The present faculty included many alumni members who have since leaving college themselves earned repute as patrons of the Arts.

8.Symbiosis International University, Pune: With 38 colleges spanning under its name in the city of Pune, Symbiosis has made its mark as one of the most diverse university in India. They have departments pertaining to all subjects of study and faculty both permanent and visiting that engages with students on a personal level.

9.Presidency College, Chennai: This college started off as a preparatory school in 1840 and went on to upgrade itself to be a high school and then a college. It has law, arts and science departments with faculty that have taught there for years. Being one of the oldest institutions in India, Presidency College has great repute amongst institutions all around the world.
