There were also four exceptions who did not agree to play a role in the scam. The four popular celebrities are Vidya Balan, Arshad Warsi, Saumya Tandon and last but not the least, Raza Murad. Cobrapost proposed them with the same but to no avail.
According to Cobrapost, all of the 36 celebrities accepted the offer for huge amounts of money, Many of them even agreed to receive money in cash (aka black money), without any hesitation.
Cobrapost pretended to be a PR agency and asked the celebrities to post content on their social media accounts and also to defend the political parties on major problems such as collapse of bridges, rape and many others. They were also seen as signing false contracts for product endorsements.
Cobrapost says : “The names of political parties were used in good faith and public interest, for narrative purpose only, and this not an insinuation of their actual involvement in the practice. The investigation was made to expose the celebs willing to endorse a political agenda in return for monetary gains.”
The celebrities were offered money which amounts to ₹2-50 lakh for one single message.
Many even agreed to not receive “white” money. This caused a stir amongst the viewers.
Now, many questions are arising as to how these celebrities are going to change or rather, convert the cash in “white”. Most of the viewers are puzzled about what made the celebrities agree about receiving even “black” money, which still stays a mystery.
Many have enquired the Bollywood celebrities about the same but no response has been received, yet.
