Summer is finally here! It’s the time to dig out those sunscreens and bikinis from your basket, sit by the pool and knock yourself out with a chilled cocktail.
But the obsession with summer fitness mostly takes away all the fun that summer has to provide you and is one of the reasons why most fitness goals fail.
So fellas, below are some tips for you to stay healthy (both mind and body) on a day to day basis and have FUN!
1. Practice Mirror Work - Always stand in awe of your body and Magic Will Happen
Mirrors reflect the feelings we have about ourselves. When you look at yourself in the mirror and have those self-sabotaging thoughts about who you are or what you look like, turn them around and make a positive proclamation instead, it’ll boost your self-confidence!.
Understand that every detail about you is the product of your life journey. You’re the product of your good days, your bad days, your battles with illnesses and your triumph over challenges. Salute yourself. You deserve it
2. Have fun with your food - Try new recipes
Try new, interesting & healthy food choices. Watch Youtube Videos, learn about nutrition & raw food, make fun smoothies and pretty looking fruit platters! Learn about what makes a balanced diet!
Maintain a food journal, write down everything you eat and how it made your body feel after an hour or so. Your body instantly reacts to what you put inside it. Listen to your, body, and you’ll know all the answers.
3. Have only ONE good breakfast & ONE good workout
Instead of setting big goals and making big promises to yourself, focus on making one good breakfast with essential nutrients or adding one more workout to your everyday routine. Remember Rome wasn’t built in a day! It starts with the desire, the willpower, and then one small step in the right direction.
We often get discouraged by looking at our peers doing much better than us. We all have that friend who wakes up early morning, goes for a 2-hour workout, drinks protein powder and talks about how good this healthy lifestyle makes his/her body feel every single time!
But understand everyone is unique. Every body is different, and every mind is different. Judge your progress from yesterday and succeed today. If you are doing better than the last month or week, then you are definitely doing better. So keep going!
4. Maintain your body weight consistently with the right strength training
Try out strength training. It’s a great way to have a healthy body and mindset throughout the year. There is a boost in metabolism, hence helping in burning calories throughout the day.
It also improves lean muscles that help increase your performance and endurance level. These things will help you maintain your body weight consistently. Have a target of strength training 2 to 3 times in a week and you’ll see the change for yourself.
5. Lifting and confidence go hand in hand
Lifting weights is a great way to gain some muscles. Sure ! But it also helps improve psychological health. There is an increase in self esteem, self-love, self-worth and confidence (which are essential to having a healthy and a happy mind).
Lifting everyday creates a balance within your body. So LIFT, my friend and maybe take some good pictures. You’ll see some good progress with time, and it’ll also help building your self-confidence.
6. Heal 90% of your diseases just by water
Always drink water when sitting, and not standing. When you stand and drink, you may get joint troubles in the future. Drink 1L of water immediately after getting up in the morning. Start following this water mantra and you will be able to heal 90 to 99 % of your diseases.
Psychologically, When you are lacking water, its causes brain tissues to shrink. When your body is a full tank, you’ll be able to think quicker , focus more easily and be more creative.
Health is not a 30 day, 60 day trial and error thing. Being healthy and fit isn’t a fad or a trend, instead, it’s a lifestyle. So go on, be the best version of you!
